‘My story, without the spin.’

From the start of his glittering career in 1992, to his official retirement from all formats of the game in 2013, Shane Warne has long desired to tell his incredible story without compromise. No Spin is that very story. It will offer a compelling intimate voice, true insight and a pitch-side seat to one of cricket’s finest eras, making this one of the ultimate must-have sports autobiographies.

Shane is not only one of the greatest living cricket legends: he is as close as the game has had since Botham to a maverick genius on the field and a true rebel spirit off it, who always gives audiences what they want. Despite being the talismanic thorn in England’s side for nearly two decades of regular Ashes defeats, he was also much loved in the UK where he played cricket for Hampshire. He’s also a much-admired figure in India and South Africa.

Alongside his mesmerising genius as a bowler, Shane has often been a controversial figure, and in this book he’s talk with brutal honesty about some of the most challenging times in his life as a player. Honest, thoughtful, fearless and loved by millions, Shane is always his own man and this book is a testament to his brilliant career.

SHANE WARNE, born 13 September 1969, is widely regarded as one of the finest bowlers in the history of cricket. Warne played his first Test match in 1992, and took over 1000 international wickets. A dangerous lower-order batsman, Warne also scored over 3000 Test runs. He played Australian domestic cricket for his home state of Victoria, and country cricket in England for Hampshire, where he was captain from 2004 -2007. Famously he captained the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the first IPL in 2008. After retirement from all formats of the game he turned to the commentary box where his strong opinion and sharp wit is a feature and will be found for the first time on Fox Sports this coming Australian summer.

*A younger reader’s edition of the number-one bestselling memoir by former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. With a new introduction from Mrs Obama herself*

What’s important is our story, our whole story, including those moments when we feel a little vulnerable . . .

Michelle Robinson started life sharing a bedroom with her older brother Craig, in their family’s upstairs apartment in her great-aunt’s house. Her parents, Fraser and Marian, poured their love and energy into their children. She would go on to become Michelle Obama, the inspirational First Lady of the United States of America.

Now adapted for younger readers, with new photographs and a new introduction from Michelle Obama herself, this memoir tells a very personal, and completely inspiring, story of how, through hard work and determination, the girl from the South Side of Chicago built an extraordinary life.

A tale of ups and downs, triumphs and failures, this is an incredibly honest account. It will take you from the early years – first kiss, first school, first love – to the wonders of the White House, and the moment Mrs Obama shook hands with the Queen of England.

A book to read, share, and talk about with the adults in your life, this is a call to action and compassion, and hope for change in uncertain times, and in a scary world.

You’ll be inspired to help others, and understand that no one is perfect. Just like Michelle Obama, you too are finding out exactly who you want to be (and, actually, so are the adults in your life).

Above all, it is a book to make you think: who are you, and what do you want to become?

Michelle Obama’s Becoming to be published in two new editions on 2 March in the UK

The former First Lady’s memoir, Becoming, will be published as a ‘Younger Readers‘ edition and in paperback this spring

Becoming, the #1 international bestselling memoir by former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, will be published in two new editions by Penguin Random House UK on 2 March, 2021.

A Younger Readers edition, adapted for children aged 10 and up and featuring a special introduction by the author and three full-colour photographic inserts, will be released in hardcover by Puffin, an imprint of Penguin Random House Children’s. A paperback edition of the original memoir, including a new introduction by the author, a letter from Mrs. Obama to her younger self, and a book club guide featuring 20 discussion questions and a 5-question Q&A, will be simultaneously issued by Viking, an imprint of Penguin General.

With the Younger Readers edition of Becoming, Michelle Obama tells her full story for a new generation with the honesty and candor that is her trademark. In sharing her joys and triumphs alongside the bumps, bruises, and challenges she has encountered along the way, Mrs. Obama invites readers to realize that no one is perfect, and that the process of becoming is what matters, as finding yourself is ever evolving. In telling her own story with boldness, she asks young readers: Who are you, and what do you want to become?

As Mrs. Obama writes in her introduction to the Younger Readers edition, “Growing up on the South Side of Chicago in the 1960s and ’70s, my parents, Fraser and Marian Robinson, always kept it straight with me and my brother, Craig. They never sugarcoated hard truths or presented their reality as anything other than what it was—because they knew we could handle it. I want to give you all that same respect.”

“So my promise to you is to give you my story in all its messy glory—from the time I struggled in front of my kindergarten class, to my first kiss and the insecurities I felt growing up, to the chaos of a campaign trail, to the strange experience of shaking hands with the Queen of England. . . . I hope that as you’re reading my story, you’ll also think about your own—because it’s the most beautiful gift you’ll ever have.”

The hardcover release of Michelle Obama’s Becoming in 2018 was a global publishing event. Michelle Obama invited readers into her world for the first time, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, and from her time spent in the White House as First Lady of the United States to her transition back to life as a private citizen. Critically acclaimed for its striking candor and honesty, the book was selected as an Oprah’s Book Club pick and received an NAACP Image Award, selling more than 15 million copies worldwide in all formats. The hardcover edition has appeared for more than 100 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. The audiobook edition, read by Mrs. Obama, received the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album, and a documentary chronicling Mrs. Obama’s unprecedented 34-city stadium book tour received international critical acclaim when it premiered on Netflix in May 2020.

While in the White House and in the years since, Michelle Obama has become an extraordinary role model, particularly for women and girls, and these new editions of BECOMING offer a unique opportunity for readers, young and old, to have a shared dialogue based on her timeless and honest wisdom.

The Younger Readers edition will carry a suggested list price of £14.99 and the paperback will carry a suggested price of £12.99.

Bill Gates

Business at the Speed of Thought

Bill Gates Collins Hemingway

Most companies have a sizeable investment in technology but are realising only 20% of its potential benefit. BUSINESS @ THE SPEED OF THOUGHT introduces the concept of the digital nervous system which unites all systems and processes under one common infrastructure, allowing companies to make quantum leaps in efficiency, growth and profit. Using detailed tours of Microsoft and other major corporations, Gates demonstrates how integrated technology can transform any business by energizing its three major elements: customer/partner relationships, employees and process, and offers practical suggestions on how this can be achieved.

How to Avoid a Climate Disaster

In this urgent, authoritative book, Bill Gates sets out a wide-ranging, practical – and accessible – plan for how the world can get to zero greenhouse gas emissions in time to avoid a climate catastrophe.

Bill Gates has spent a decade investigating the causes and effects of climate change. With the help of experts in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, political science, and finance, he has focused on what must be done in order to stop the planet’s slide toward certain environmental disaster. In this book, he not only explains why we need to work toward net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases, but also details what we need to do to achieve this profoundly important goal.

He gives us a clear-eyed description of the challenges we face. Drawing on his understanding of innovation and what it takes to get new ideas into the market, he describes the areas in which technology is already helping to reduce emissions, where and how the current technology can be made to function more effectively, where breakthrough technologies are needed, and who is working on these essential innovations. Finally, he lays out a concrete, practical plan for achieving the goal of zero emissions-suggesting not only policies that governments should adopt, but what we as individuals can do to keep our government, our employers, and ourselves accountable in this crucial enterprise.

As Bill Gates makes clear, achieving zero emissions will not be simple or easy to do, but if we follow the plan he sets out here, it is a goal firmly within our reach.

Gates’ book is compulsively readable. His ambition was to ‘cut through the noise’ and give consumers better tools for understanding what works, an ambition he meets admirably. It more than that, however. Gates can get an audience with anyone, can marshal almost limitless resources, and is dogged in the detail. The result – particularly in the wake of the Trump presidency – is thrilling
